Consultant Dermatologist, 2 Year Fixed-Term

Nelson Marlborough Health (NMH) are looking for a part-time Dermatologist (0.5 FTE), fixed-term for two years, to bring their skills and experience to our provincial hospitals and enjoy the lifestyle that this affords. As we operate services district-wide you will be required to provide services at both Nelson Hospital and Wairau Hospital in Blenheim.

As the sole Dermatologist you will be a key resource to the wider health team working closely with your primary care colleagues, in a distributed care model, to ensure medical dermatology care is provided in the optimal setting of care.

The successful applicant will support and complement our existing Medical, Surgical and Primary teams in the delivery of Skin Lesion services and will be a part of the wider South Island dermatology network.

Opportunity also exists for the delivery and development of private services across our region.

As a highly skilled diagnostician you will be a great team player, with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications required upon taking up the position:

  • FRACP or equivalent
  • Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • Hold a current annual practising certificate

A position for a General Dermatologist has become available within a prominent, progressive, multi disciplinary dermatology group practice located in the beautiful city of Tauranga, New Zealand.

SkinCentre consultants include Dr Paul Salmon, Dr Neil Mortimer, Dr Sandra Winhoven Dr Susan Simpkin and Dr Louise Cutts who together provide a comprehensive dermatology service.

The Skin Centre has an established, busy referral base. Facilities include purpose built rooms including a fully equipped day stay theatre. Services provided at the Skin Centre include Phototherapy, Patch Testing and Digital Dermoscopy, advanced dermatologic surgery and Mohs Micrographic Surgery.

The work includes mostly private dermatology with a collegial relationship with SkinCentre doctors across the country. The position is negotiable from 5/10ths to 10/10ths.
